Walkies Edinburgh was established in 1991 and was Edinburgh's first professional dog walking service. It was set up by Brian Armstrong with the help of the Government Enterprise Allowance Scheme. The dog walking business was so unique that it received press coverage in publications such as the Evening News, the Herald and the Scottish SPCA News.

Since its beginnings 26 years ago with only a few dogs, Brian has consistently provided a professional and reliable dog walking service to many people and their dogs. Brian's wife, Moira joined Walkies Edinburgh 20 years ago and is responsible for the marketing and the website. Over these years Moira has learned from Brian's vast experience of working with dogs and is also a very experienced and adept dog walker. Moira's sister, Rhona Park joined Walkies Edinburgh in 2013 and is a valuable addition to our dog walking business.  All three of Walkies Edinburgh's dog walkers are insured, registered as professional dog walkers with City of Edinburgh council and are committed to always provide the best of service.

Walkies Edinburgh use the successful philosophy that dogs are pack animals by nature. Every pack has a leader, known as the alpha animal. The alpha is the leader who makes decisions for the entire pack - obviously the dog walker is the alpha. As leaders of the pack we set the rules, consistently and calmly conveying this information to the dog through commands, our body language and praise.
